Prof. SHEN, Zhi-Xun
Professor Zhi-Xun Shen, winner of OYRA in 1993, received his B.S. degree in physics from Fudan University in 1983, Master's degree from Rutgers University in 1985, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1989.
He is now an Assistant Professor in the Applied Physics Department and the
Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory at Stanford University.
Professor Shen was cited for his
pioneering studies of highly correlated systems using angle-resolved photoemission and for the resulting elucidation of the nature of high-temperature superconductors, Mott insulators, and ferromagnetic systems.
