1st IAS-CERN School in Particle physics and Cosmology - Implications and Technology

IAS and CERN will be organizing the above school from 9 to 31 January 2012 at Nanyang Technology University, Singapore.

Building upon the strong collaboration between IAS and CERN, the School will present an outstanding program composed of core lectures and workshops by Nobel Laureates and eminent visiting professors of IAS, as well as follow-up discussions and special seminars by the students. The physics themes include Frontiers in Particle Physics and Cosmology, View of the Cosmos with Strings and Branes, Interdependence between Physics and Technology, etc.

*Scientific Objectives*

The school is targeted at advanced graduate students and young postdocs and faculty covering frontier topics in particle physics and cosmology, as well as latest technology in accelerator physics. The lectures are intended to enable interested researchers to join in the scientific exploration in the exciting fields. Participants coming to the school are assumed to possess basic knowledge in particle physics. The School aims to take in 50 students for the first session in 2012.
