The 2012 Outstanding Young Researcher Award (OYRA) (Macronix Prize) and the Achievements in Asia Award (AAA) (Robert T. Poe Prize) were presented to the award winners at the reception of the Forum on International Physics (FIP) during the 2013 APS March Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland on March 19th. The current APS President, Professor Michael Turner (University of Chicago) and the Director of APS International Affairs, Dr. Amy Flatten, were both present at the FIP reception to greet all attendees. Professor Yeh and Professor Chang were in attendance to represent OCPA.
The winners of the 2012 AAA (Robert T. Poe Prize), Professor Zhong Fang and Professor Xi Dai were both present in person to receive the awards. In addition, we were honored to invite the presence of Mr. Miin Wu, Chairman of Macronix International Corp. Ltd. and the Macronix Education Foundation, to present the OYRA (Macronix Prize) to Professor Xuan Gao, one of the two winners of the 2012 OYRA (Macronix Prize), and Professor Xi Dai, who received the award on behalf of the other winner Professor Yulin Chen. Prior to the award ceremony, Chairman Wu was invited by Professor Chang and Professor Yeh to give a short speech to the attendees, during which he described the vision of the Macronix Education Foundation and his commitment to support the OYRA (Macronix Prize) for 25 years.
